Learning Outcomes Relationships
PLO 1: Demonstrate knowledge of techniques, tools and technical skills, needed in farm production and farm management, including those needed to qualify for applicable industry credentials.
CLO 1: Identify plant anatomical structures and describe their physiological functions.
CLO 2: Identify and classify plants by taxonomy at different stages of growth.
CLO 3: Compare and contrast sexual and asexual reproduction and apply basic methods for propagating plants, including appropriate soil mixes.
CLO 4: Identify the causes and symptoms of nutrient deficiencies, and select methods of supplementing the required nutrients to demonstrate a basic understanding of plant nutrition and determine optimum management practices for plant growth.
CLO 5: Describe the fundamentals of plant genetics, genetic diversity, and gene pools as they relate to pollination, sexual versus asexual propagation, seed saving, and the role of dormancy in seed germination.
CLO 6: Perform record management of propagation data.
PLO 2: Work productively and collaboratively in an agricultural environment, as an individual, a member of a problem-solving team, and a social network builder within the farming community.
CLO 6: Perform record management of propagation data.
PLO 3: Contribute to the production, distribution and marketing of locally grown produce.
CLO 6: Perform record management of propagation data.
PLO 4: Apply systems thinking to the study of interactions between food, land, human health, and ecosystem services.
