PTHA 222 - REHABILITATION PRINCIPLES II
  • PLO 1: Students/Graduates will competently provide high quality data collection and intervention skills based on the PT plan of care.
    • CLO 2: Students will apply knowledge of commonly encountered conditions to intervention planning of physical therapy treatments.
    • CLO 10: Students will demonstrate competence in monitoring selected components of data collection techniques acquired in previous courses for carrying out the Physical Therapist Plan of Care, for pre and post interventions including: A. Vital signs B. Architectural barriers C. ADL, functional activities and assistive devices D. Pain E. Anthropometric measures, length, girth and volume F. Skin, sensation and circulation G. Posture H. Balance and coordination I. Joint range of motion J. Muscle performance K. Gait and assistive devices L. Righting and equilibrium reactions/reflexes M. Detecting and responding to acute changes in the patient’s physiological state/mentation/emergencies
    • CLO 11: Students will demonstrate competence in performing procedural interventions as outlined in the Physical Therapist Plan of Care including: A. Superficial and deep thermal agents including heat and cold B. Light therapies C. Manual therapies D. Hydrotherapy and aquatics E. Traction F. Compression and edema management G. Electrotherapeutic agents H. Therapeutic exercise I. Wound management J. Gait, locomotion and Wheelchairs mobility K. Developmental sequence, reflexes and preambulation techniques L. Orthotics, prosthetics, assistive devices and ambulation aids M. ADL, transfer and functional mobility training
  • PLO 2: Students/Graduates will practice legally, ethically and safely within their scope of practice under the direction and supervision of the PT.
    • CLO 3: Students will successfully relate the etiology, common symptoms, physician/medical management, Physical Therapist (PT) workup, and Physical Therapist Assistant role in physical therapy treatments in the PT plan of care for common orthopedic disorders.
    • CLO 4: Students will successfully relate the etiology, common symptoms, physician/medical management, PT workup, and Physical Therapist Assistant role in physical therapy in the PT plan of care for spinal disorders
    • CLO 5: Students will successfully relate the etiology, common symptoms, physician/medical management, PT workup, and Physical Therapist Assistant role in physical therapy in the PT plan of care pediatric diagnoses
    • CLO 6: Students will successfully relate the etiology, common symptoms, physician/medical management, PT workup, and Physical Therapist Assistant role in physical therapy treatments in the PT plan of care for patients with amputations, orthotics and prosthetics
    • CLO 7: Students will successfully relate the etiology, common symptoms, physician/medical management, PT workup, and Physical Therapist Assistant role in physical therapy treatments in the PT plan of care for patients with upper and lower motor neurological disorders
    • CLO 8: Students will successfully relate the etiology, common symptoms, physician/medical management, PT workup, and Physical Therapist Assistant role in physical therapy treatments in the PTs plan of care for patients with cardio-pulmonary conditions.
    • CLO 9: Students will successfully relate the etiology, common symptoms, physician/medical management, PT workup, and Physical Therapist Assistant role in physical therapy treatments in the PT plan of care for patients with pain and chronic pain
  • PLO 3: Students/Graduates will demonstrate professional behaviors consistent with the core value documents of the profession.
    • CLO 12: Students will demonstrate compliance with professional skills including the Guide to Conduct, Standards of Ethical Conduct, and Values Based Behaviors.
