HLED 153 - FIRST AID AND SAFETY
  • PLO 3: Apply appropriate counseling therapies and/or recognized treatments in assisting clients in various correctional settings including but not limited to long and short-term correctional facilities, diversion, and post-incarceration aftercare programs
    • CLO 1: Recognize symptoms of specific medical emergencies (e.g. diabetes, seizures, heart attack, stroke, bleeding, trauma etc).
    • CLO 2: Identify the major risk factors for cardiovascular disease and emergency medical conditions.
    • CLO 3: Utilize skills to communicate, assess and treat individuals encompassing all ages and populations.
    • CLO 4: Demonstrate first aid responder skills and precautions for treating a variety of medical emergencies.
    • CLO 5: Collaborate with a group of peers to assess and provide care for victims of a mock disaster.
    • CLO 6: Value adherence to legal parameters of a layperson.
    • CLO 7: Justify the need to access the emergency medical system.
    • CLO 8: Describe benefits of a healthy, active and well balanced lifestyle.
