Learning Outcomes Relationships
PLO 3: Apply appropriate counseling therapies and/or recognized treatments in assisting clients in various correctional settings including but not limited to long and short-term correctional facilities, diversion, and post-incarceration aftercare programs
CLO 1: Identify key psychological terminology used in correctional mental health assessment and treatment.
CLO 2: Discuss current methods used to address mental health issues in a correctional setting.
CLO 3: Outline treatment options available to various community corrections programs supervised by probation/parole officers based on specific offender criteria.
CLO 4: Outline treatment options when dealing with individuals diagnosed with mental illness based on specific offender criteria.
CLO 5: Develop a positive philosophy to assist those who suffer from mental illness.
CLO 6: Develop ethical behavior in dealing with those who suffer from mental illness.
PLO 5: Demonstrate cultural diversity and community awareness skills including, but not limited to, conflict resolution, media relations, crime prevention, referrals to and collaboration with both criminal and non-criminal justice agencies
