PLO 1: Accurately demonstrate a safe and professional level of practice, skill and knowledge in their role as an entry-level Sterile Processing Technician.
CLO 1: Describe the importance of workflow in a modern organized central service department.
CLO 2: Recall of anatomy and physiology of the human body in relation to the processing of surgical instrumentation and patient care equipment.
CLO 3: Discuss basic microbiology and identification of common microbes and diseases found in today's healthcare environment.
CLO 5: Identification of basic surgical instrumentation in general, gynecology, obstetrics, and urology surgical specialties.
CLO 6: Demonstrate the use of hand hygiene and donning proper personal protective equipment.
PLO 2: Demonstrate an understanding of the principle, practices, and safety regulations in sterile processing to ensure safety and quality of care for patients.
