PRNS 111 - FUNDAMENTALS OF MEDICAL/SURGICAL NURSING I
  • PLO 1: Demonstrate support of the role of the patient or designee as the source of control and full partner by providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for patient’s preferences, values, dignity, privacy and needs.
    • CLO 2: Recognize the physical and psychological effects of stress and illness on the adult patient
    • CLO 4: Explain the physical and psychological effects of various medical and surgical conditions on the adult patient.
    • CLO 5: Appropriately prioritize nursing problems in order to implement nursing care safely and effectively to patients with designated medical/surgical conditions
  • PLO 2: Interact effectively with patients across the lifespan, along with their families, to foster open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making.
    • CLO 3: Demonstrate knowledge of developmental tasks of the adult patient across their lifespan and how this impacts their care.
    • CLO 9: Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate in nursing lab and clinical environments.
  • PLO 3: Work with other members of the healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes through effective communication and collaboration.
