DANC 251, HISTORY OF DANCE 3 (3)

This course gives a broad overview of the history of dance in the world and various cultures. (OT 36, TAG)

DANC 252, DANCE COMPOSITION 3 (3)

This dance composition course introduces students to the foundational elements of dance technique using Graham vocabulary and the creative process of choreography. Through a combination of movement exploration, and compositional studies, students will learn to craft original dance projects and deepen their technical skills. Emphasis is placed on the choreographic method, technique, dance and technology and performance. Students will also engage in collaborative projects and group exercises to develop their choreographic voice. By the end of the course, students will have created and performed 3 original dance works demonstrating their knowledge and understanding of the vocabulary gained throughout the course of the semester. DANC 299, INDIVIDUALIZED STUDIES IN DANCE 1-3 (1)

An in-depth study of areas in dance presented by discussion and/or individual research and reading. Topics will vary. Repeatable up to six (6) times for a total of six (6) credit hours.
