MASN 101, BRICK LAYING I 6 (10)

This covers basic concepts of masonry bricklaying concepts including labor history, construction management organization training, OSHA10 training, tools and equipment, mortar manipulation, mixing mortar.

MASN 111, TILE SETTING AND FINISHING I 6 (10)

This course covers basic masonry tile installation and finishing topics, including tile installation tools, grouting installation tools, tile dimensioning, tile cutting, safety, waterproof membrane selection and installation, mortar setting, installation of mortar beds, use of adhesives, adhesive types, layouts, and shower flooring.

MASN 121, RESTORATION I 6 (10)

This course covers basic masonry restoration topics, including pointing, OSHA10 Certification, swing stage, fall projection, safety, and aerial lift.

MASN 131, CEMENT FINISHING I 6 (10)

This course covers basic masonry cement finishing topics, including basic concrete technology, safety basics, review of masonry related mathematical applications, water to cement ratio, cement properties, screening methods and technologies, placing tools, spreading tools and techniques, concrete mixing, and sub-grade reparation and reinforcement.

MASN 201, BRICK LAYING II 6 (10)

This course covers intermediate masonry concepts and skills, including wall system components, penetration openings, flashing certification, reinforced masonry, grout certification, angled walls, and blueprint reading.

MASN 202, BRICK LAYING III 6 (10)

This course covers advanced masonry techniques, including installing radius walls, blueprint reading, elevation layout, masonry professions skill set requirements, battering brickwork, arches layout, building styles, and advanced arch layout and building.

MASN 211, TILE SETTING AND FINISHING II 6 (10)

This course covers intermediate tile installing and finishing topics, including tile laying, saws, mixers, lasers, mortar tools, other tools, cement product types, crack isolation methods, types of backer boards, caulking types and tools, demolition and tile removal, and adhesive mixing.

MASN 212, TILE SETTING AND FINISHING III 6 (10)

This course covers advanced masonry tile installing and finishing topics, including cleaning and sealing titles, foreman and supervision training, project layout details, water-proofing projects, floor and wall preparation, and safety applications.

MASN 221, RESTORATION II 6 (10)

This course covers intermediate masonry restoration topics, including caulking preparation, types of caulk, safety, striking, material and surface preparation, lintel replacement and flashing, building with brick, brick replacement.

MASN 222, RESTORATION III 6 (10)

This course covers advanced masonry restoration topics, including history of masonry, masonry preservation, project assessment and reporting, infection control and risk assessment, patching and pointing mortars, Dutchman patching, terracotta and concrete repair.

MASN 231, CEMENT FINISHING II 6 (10)

This course covers intermediate masonry cement finishing topics, including concrete forming, joint cutting, concrete edging, and safety procedures.

MASN 232, CEMENT FINISHING III 6 (10)

This course covers advanced masonry cement finishing topics, including joint location and types, joint control isolation and construction, floor flatness and levelness, curb tools, curb instructions, box curb, and roll curb.

MASN 245, MASONRY CROSS-TRAINING AND CAPSTONE PROJECT 6 (10)

This course provides cross-training for all masonry trades and a capstone experience. Topics covered include welding, foremen and supervisor training, repair mortar certification, concrete stamping, concrete flat broom finishing, steel troweling, and smooth finishing.
