LCCC’s Response to COVID-19

To protect the safety of the LCCC community and best ensure compliance with local, state, and federal directives related to the COVID-19 pandemic, LCCC’s Spring 2020 courses were moved to remote delivery methods beginning on March 10, 2020.

This rapid response resulted in several shifts in LCCC’s standard operations, including moving all courses and student services into remote delivery. LCCC acknowledges the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students’ health and well-being, employment, and family responsibilities.

Some policies within the 2019-2020 catalog were adjusted to mitigate the academic impact on enrolled LCCC students. During these unprecedented circumstances, LCCC set forth temporary procedures regarding student records. Adjustments to 2019-2020 catalog policies are listed in the Temporary Procedures: 2019-2020 Catalog Addendum to Mitigate Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic document.

While these changes were implemented in the 2019-2020 LCCC catalog year, their impact may carry over to students progressing into future academic years. For reference, this information is also available in this catalog.

About the Catalog

Assignment of Catalog

The academic requirements for each student's program of study are based on the catalog in effect when the student is initially admitted to Lorain County Community College. Catalog requirements are in place for a maximum of eight years.

Students may elect to complete their work under a more recent catalog than originally assigned but must comply with all of the new requirements relevant to their program since that time.

Students who extend their studies more than eight years from the date of initial admission will be subject to a new Catalog. Upon completion of the eighth catalog year, the student will be assigned to the most recent catalog and an additional eight years to complete their study under this new catalog.

Students who intend to earn a degree from Lorain County Community College are urged to complete their programs within five years from the time they begin. Currency of skill and knowledge is crucial for success. Some technical programs require completion within a shorter period because of accreditation, certification or licensure requirements. Consult with Enrollment Services or the academic division for more information about the time completion requirements for your program.

Students transferring to Lorain County Community College who maintain continuous enrollment (defined as attending at least two terms in an academic year) in a public higher education institution will have the option to select the course equivalencies documented and certified in Transferology as of the point of initial enrollment or at the point of transfer.
