The Surgical Technology Program at Lorain County Community College offers a comprehensive and hands-on education that prepares students for a rewarding career in the healthcare field. Surgical technologists are essential members of surgical teams, working alongside surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and successful surgical procedures. With a strong emphasis on practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and clinical experience, our program equips students with the expertise needed to excel in this dynamic and critical role.

Our Surgical Technology program is accredited by both ARC-STSA (Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) and CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs), ensuring that our curriculum meets the highest industry standards. Upon successful completion of our program, students will be eligible to sit for the NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) exam, a nationally recognized certification that opens doors to a wide range of rewarding career opportunities in surgical technology. Graduates of this program are also prepared for continuing education in health sciences. Lorain County Community College has articulation agreements with colleges and universities including programs offered by Lorain County Community College’s University Partnership.
